The Fashion Blonder (Family Version)

Naturalmente, tappa obbligatoria in piazzetta.

— io i figli tranquilli in giro li vedo. Quindi devono esistere, non è leggenda metropolitana. Forse però li danno solo su ordinazione speciale, tipo edizione limitata.

I Puffi.

E domani? Beh, domani si ricomincia. Ma questa volta, giuro, relax. (Forse). 😉

Another Epic Day ✨

Today was one of those days that start with “okay, a little walk and then some relaxing” and end with you running after life (and especially the kids) like you’re in a marathon.

The morning started with the classic “grandma Pina-style” walk—that old-fashioned, typical stroll through the village. A few quick chats with people you meet, the smell of coffee wafting from houses, streets still sleepy but already alive with small everyday gestures. Of course, we had to stop in the little square. I always fool myself into thinking the kids will play “calmly”… but the reality is that I spent a good half-hour running after my tiny little terror, who sprints faster than an Olympic sprinter.

And yet—I swear!—I do see calm children around. So they must exist. Maybe they only come in limited edition, though.

After lunch, scene change: we take Manuel to his grandmother. And here someone might think: “Finally, a moment of rest for mom.” Foolish. I don’t know if I’m just masochistic, but the point is always the same: I drop off one child… and pick up another one that isn’t even mine. 😂

So, with Ale and my nephew in tow, I head to the cinema. They are thrilled: popcorn in hand, eyes wide as true connoisseurs ready for the big show. I, on the other hand, secretly hope to catch a little break. “We’re going to watch a thriller,” I tell myself, “at least the adrenaline will keep me awake.”

And the thriller in question? Drumroll… The Smurfs.

Forget suspense and edge-of-your-seat twists: after ten minutes, I was already fighting heavy eyelids. I even think I had a micro-nap, the kind where you jolt awake, hoping no one noticed.

And just when I think the day couldn’t get more intense… tonight we start feeling Manuel warm. Then the horror-movie scene begins: us, with two menacing thermometers, chasing him around to check his temperature.

Of course, the child runs like we’re monsters, but eventually, we manage to confirm the reality: he has a fever. We don’t know how high, but he has it. Period.

And the best part? He doesn’t seem to notice at all: running, jumping, talking as if nothing happened, fueling the legend of the unstoppable child.

And that’s how my epic day ends: between The Smurfs, endless chases, and feverish but tireless children. A small, chaotic, wonderful kind of normal.

And tomorrow? Well, we start again. But this time, I swear, relaxation. (Maybe). 😉
