A Little Escape with Myself
When you enter a seaside town, you can feel it.
You notice it in the brighter colors, the scents of sea salt and coffee in the air, and that light energy that seems to say, “Relax, time flows differently here.” Even before you see the sea, you can sense it: it’s there, ready to give you its emotions.
Today, I decided to give myself a rare gift: a whole day just for me. No kids calling “mommyyy” every two minutes, no mom calling the kids back with the same intensity. Just me, my thoughts, and a freedom I hadn’t felt in a long time.
I wandered without a plan, admiring the flowered balconies and letting myself be surprised by every little detail. I had a coffee without having to share the pastry (an event worth celebrating!) and breathed deeply the air that feels like a vacation even if you’re just a couple of hours from home. Small, simple things, but precious.
And then, there it was: the sea. Blue, immense, with that horizon that puts everything into perspective. It makes you feel both small and big at the same time, welcoming you and reminding you that sometimes it’s important to stop and think about yourself.
The truth is, you don’t always need a trip far away to find yourself. Sometimes, a quiet afternoon, a peaceful ice cream, and the magic of a horizon whispering, “breathe, you’re exactly where you’re meant to be,” are enough
