Grandparents’ Day: A Thought That Lives in the Heart

Today, on a day dedicated to grandparents, my thoughts inevitably turn to them.

I miss them every day. I miss their smiles, their simple way of making me feel safe, the quiet but essential presence that made every moment lighter.

I miss the kitchen filled with the scent of tradition, the shared laughter, the stories full of wisdom, and the warmth that only they knew how to give.

They were my strongest roots: they taught me the values of family, the importance of simple things, the power of kindness.

Today, though they are no longer here, memories remain, as does the emptiness of their absence — but also the certainty that a part of them lives in me and will always accompany me.

My last thought of the day is always for them, and never as much as in this period do I feel the deep need to have them close.

And on this day, I also want to thank my children’s grandparents: with love and presence, in their own way, they always try to be there. They are a precious point of reference, and knowing that my children can grow up surrounded by their affection is a gift beyond measure.

💌 To accompany this thought, I leave here the link to a song I dedicate to them: Ovunque Sarai – Irama, a song that speaks of memories, eternal love, and a bond that transcends time.
