Last Days of Truce Before the Explosion
When I think back to those days, I see myself like this: huge, tired, emotionally fragile, and convinced I still had time.
Spoiler: I didn’t.
My belly was everywhere, sleep had become a distant memory, and even tying my shoes felt like an endurance test. And yet, those days felt strange and suspended. A silent truce before the most beautiful chaos of my life.
The last days before the explosion.
Not the loud, sudden kind, but the slow, inevitable one that changes you forever.
There were only four days left before we met.
Four days before I looked into your eyes for the first time.
And I didn’t know it. I thought I still had time, that I could slow down, that I could take one more breath.
In reality, I was already learning the biggest lesson of all: you can’t control everything.
You wait. You feel. You love in advance.
In those days, I was focused on the waiting, on that thin line between “before” and “after.” I was chasing normality while a new version of me was being born — one I had never met before.
Looking back, it was the calm before the storm.
One last deep breath.
A silence before a life that would never be the same again (and thankfully so).
Two years later, I look at those photos and smile.
Because yes, I was about to explode.
And without knowing it, I was living the last four days before meeting the greatest thing I’ve ever done.
