So già come andrà:
Serena.
Pronta.
Napoli, arriviamo.
Today.
Today is a beautiful day.
Not because something extraordinary happened, not because there was any big reason. It’s simply one of those days when you feel good inside, without needing to explain why.
I feel calm.
And it’s an almost new feeling. Like starting a different page of your life: the story is still yours, but the way you’re living it has changed.
Maybe it’s also because I booked a trip.
And when you book a trip, you’re always happy in the end. It’s a kind of happiness in advance, the one that arrives even before you start packing.
Let’s be clear: this won’t be a vacation.
It will be a trip with kids.
Which is a mix of adventure, endurance training, and a serious exercise in patience.
I already know how it will go:
the suitcase will contain three times what’s necessary, and still miss that one essential thing.
Someone will be hungry five minutes after leaving the house.
Someone else will suddenly need to go to the bathroom at the worst possible moment.
And I’ll be there, trying to hold everything together with a smile and a level of patience I didn’t even know I had.
And yet, the idea makes me happy.
Because a trip isn’t just about moving from one place to another.
It’s about breaking the routine, changing pace, looking at things from a different angle.
It’s about saying to yourself: let’s go, even if it’s going to be exhausting.
I’ll probably come back more tired than before.
But I’ll also come back with new memories, new images, new stories to tell.
And today, thinking about all of this, I simply feel good.
Calm.
Ready.
Naples, here we come.
