The Fashion Blonder (Family Version)

The Things I Love (and Hate) About Myself

Some days I look in the mirror and think: “Well done, you’re really doing great.”

And other days I feel like laughing (or crying) and saying: “What on earth were you thinking?”

The truth is, inside me there are traits I absolutely love… and others that make me want to hit ctrl+alt+delete.

The things I love

Let’s start with the good stuff.

My honesty: filters are for photos, not for words. Sure, sometimes I should count to ten, but at least with me, you always know where you stand.

My contagious laugh: once I start, I can’t stop. The kind of laugh that begins quietly and ends up sounding like a sitcom with a laugh track.

My depth: I can’t settle for the surface. If we talk, I dig deeper, I ask how you’re really doing (and yes, I truly want to know).

My curiosity: I’m the kind of person who asks “why” at least five times in a row. Google is basically an extension of my brain.

My big heart: I might look tough, but one small kind gesture and I melt faster than chocolate in the sun.

The things I hate

And now, the painful part.

My fast tongue: the thought is born and my mouth has already spoken. Result? Phrases I wish I could take back five seconds later.

My stubbornness: when I make up my mind, convincing me otherwise is like getting a mule to do yoga. Impossible.

My inner drill sergeant: I want everything under control, from plan A to plan Z. Sometimes it’s useful, other times even I can’t stand myself.

My XXL sensitivity: I cry at movies, books, even Christmas commercials. A disaster.

My “Florence Nightingale syndrome”: if someone has a problem, I show up with my superhero cape. Too bad I sometimes wear it when I should be taking care of myself first.

The moral of the story

In the end, I love and hate the very same things about myself.

My honesty? It’s great, but it makes me too blunt. My depth? Beautiful, but complicated. My big heart? Lovely, but heavy at times.

The truth is, I wouldn’t change a thing: these contradictions are exactly what make me… me.

And if not everyone likes me, that’s fine: I’m not pizza, after all. 🍕
