2010/11 (Scroll down for the English version)

2010/11

If I could relive one year of my life, I’d probably choose 2010/11.
Not because it was the perfect year. Quite the opposite. Looking back now, it was probably one of the messiest years of my life. 😂
But it was a revolutionary year for me.
I was 23 and, for the first time, I felt truly free to make my own choices and decide what to do with my life. The problem was that, apparently, nobody had explained to me yet that being free to make your own choices doesn’t necessarily mean making smart ones. 🫠
And boy, did I prove that point…
At 23, I opened my own shop. At the time, I was working as a hairdresser, and I decided that, yes, this was definitely the right moment to go out on my own.
Too bad that shop was such a huge success that I ended up paying off its debts for the next 10 years.
A very long-term investment, let’s call it. 😂
As if that wasn’t enough, around the same time I also moved out of my parents’ house and started my first relationship living together.
It obviously didn’t work out. 😂
So, in a very short period of time, I went from being a girl who was still living somewhat like a teenager to running a business, managing a home, navigating my first cohabitation, and dealing with a level of responsibility that would probably give me anxiety just thinking about it today.
Maybe that was my first real transition from being a girl to becoming a mini woman.
And the funny thing is, when I look back at that 23-year-old girl today, I can’t help but smile.
She was convinced she knew exactly what she was doing.
She absolutely had no idea. 😂
But she had something that maybe gets a little lost as we grow older: the lightness of just taking the leap.
She did things, made mistakes, started over, and kept going.
And maybe, if I could actually go back for one year, I wouldn’t change even those wrong choices.
I’d simply want to relive that feeling of having my whole life ahead of me and thinking: “Let’s see what happens.” ❤️
